  Know all men by these that I Mary Ann Pile of the county of Shelby & State of Alabama in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars in hand paid by B. W. Elliott the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the said Elliott the following property to wit: One black mule bought of J. W. McGrant, also twenty head of stock hogs & twenty head of sheep & 8 head of cattle to have and to hold said property from me my heirs or assigns as his own right & property to all intents & purposes. But to hold said property upon trust nevertheless. That if the said Mary Ann Pile shall pay or cause to be paid a certain note of hand for sixty dollars given by her to J. W. McGrant, dated May 12, 1859 & due the 25~ day of next December to which said note I am security. Whenever said note shall become due, or b demanded, then this obligation to be null & void and of no effect in law but if not to remain in full force & value

In testimony whereof witness my hand and seal this 12~ day of May 1859.
