Overview:

Nicholas Pyle was born in 1803 in GA, son of Samuel Pyle and Charity Eason.  Nicholas Pyle married Mary Westbrook  in Fayette County, Georgia on 20 January 1831.  Fayette County is right next to Henry County which is where he spent the first years of his marriage.  In the mid 1830s he next appears 230 miles west in the area of Sumter Co, AL and Kemper Co, MS which are side-by-side.  Then in the mid 1840's he appears east 210 miles in Floyd Co, Georgia where he stayed until the fall of 1853.  Then once again he appears west 110 miles in Shelby Co, AL (see Map).

There is a strong indication that Nicholas and Mary Ann Westbrook separated in the late 1850s and that Nicholas moved to Kaufman County, TX where he was in the home of his brother John Pyle for the 1860 census.  At age 57, he had a meager personal estate of $130.  Next he got married to Emmeline Tyson (possibly committing bigamy) on 22 Jan 1863 in Kaufman Co, TX.  Nicholas died around 1867 in Kaufman County.
