Tarrant Co

Sometime in 1855, John H. Pyle arrived in Tarrant Co, TX.  There is a John Pile on the assessment roles of Tarrant Co in 1855.  John Pile appears in the publication “First Settlers” (a record of land surveys conducted in Tarrant Co, TX in and 1850s) and can be seen on the following web pages:

Notice in the map below that the trip from John Pyle’s farm near Stubbs, TX to Tarrant Co is approximately 80 miles which would only require a day or two to travel on horseback.

Introduction

Texas is the locus of many events in the proof that John J. Poill was John H. Pyle.  This web page brings together the Texas information which will be useful for understanding and proving the theory that John J. Poill is John H. Pyle.

One of the major points to be proved (see T1: Transition: AL to TX) is that John H. Pyle lived and worked in Tarrant Co, TX from 1855 to 1859.  It is my theory that after John H. Pyle was involved in an assault and battery case in Shelby Co, AL in 1853-54 that he migrated to Texas arriving by 1855.  In particular, it is my theory that when he went to Texas, he first visited his uncle John Pyle who was the brother of his father Nicholas E. Pyle.  Uncle John Pyle and his family lived in Kaufman Co, TX near the village of Stubbs, TX (see his biography).

The map below shows the location of Kaufman Co and Tarrant Co.
